Despina Provata
She is an Associate Professor of History of French Civilization at the University of Athens, specializing in the cultural transfers between France and Greece. She has been teaching at the University of Athens since 2004 and she also teaches a course on History of the European Literature at the Hellenic Open University (since 2000).
After graduating from the French Department of the University of Athens (BA in French Literature), she pursued her studies in France, at the University of Paris-Sorbonne-Paris IV where she obtained a Masters Degree (Diplôme d’études approfondies) and a PhD in General and Comparative literature. In France she had a scholarship from the Greek National Foundation of Scholarships (IKY). She also cooperated with the National research institute into research programs while she was the scientific supervisor of a research project funded by the Leventis foundation and materialized in cooperation with the Department of French studies of the University of Cyprus (Assistant professor May Chehab).
Despina Provata has published monographs, coedited collective volumes, chapters for books and several scientific articles on her research interests that include Comparative literature, History of Ideas, Cultural transfers between Greece and France and Translation studies.
She is vice-president of the SIHFLES (Société Internationale pour l’Histoire du Français Langue Étrangère ou Seconde) and co-editor of the peer reviewed periodical Documents pour l’histoire du français langue étrangère ou seconde (Dhfles).
Dimitra Razaki

Euripides Garantoudis
Euripides Garantoudis (Kavala, 1964) is currently a Professor of Modern Greek literature at the Department of Philology of the University of Athens and he has been working as a member of the Greek Open University for the last eleven years. He worked for three years (November 1986 - October 1989) as a lecturer at the ‘Istituto di Studi Bizantini e Neogreci’ of the University of Padua teaching Greek language and literature. He has written or edited 27 books in his field, and has published over 270 papers in journals and collective volumes. He has participated in 57 local and international conferences and in twelve research projects in Greece as a scientific officer or researcher. He has been elected at the place of the special secretary of the Greek Comparative Literature Association for the past nine years. He translated ‘Ed è subito sera’ by Salvatore Quasimodo in Modern Greek, as well as a selection of poems by Cesare Pavese.
Eleni Papalexiou
She is a lecturer at the Department of Theatre Studies, School of Fine Arts, University of the Peloponnese (Nafplion), where she teaches contemporary theatre, theatre theory and performance analysis. She holds a Ph.D. from the Université Sorbonne Paris IV. She is the author of a monograph entitled When the words turn to matter on the theatre of Romeo Castellucci and the Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio (Plethron, 2009) and of the volume La tragédie grecque sur la scène contemporaine (ANRT, Université de Lille, 2005). Her articles were published in international scholarly journals, proceedings and volumes. She has given several international and national keynotes and invited lectures and she has participated with original papers in international conferences. She was the main researcher of the research project “Archivio” (University of Crete, 2012-2013) and is currently a member of the main research team of the European project “Arch: Archival Research and Cultural Heritage-Aristeia II” (University of Athens, 2014-2015), both concerning the theatre archive of Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio. As a Fulbright visiting scholar she conducted research at Stanford University (Department of Classics & Department of Theater and Performance Studies, 2014-2015).
George N. Vlahakis
George N. Vlahakis is Assitant Professor in Hellenic Open University in Patras, Greece, and Fellow Researcher in the Institute of Historical Research / National Hellenic Research Foundation.He has studied Physics (B.Sc., 1983), Oceanography (M.Sc., 1987) and History and Philosophy of Science (Ph.D., 1991). His main research interest is history of science in South-Eastern Europe with a focus on comparative studies in the framework of the so called “periphery-center” scheme. He has participated in many international Conferences and he has published papers and books in Greek and English. He is also editor of thematic volumes and special issues of scientific journals.He is member of several academic societies. He is also correspondent member of the International Academy of the History of Sciences and President of the Commission for Science and Literature of DHST/IUHPST. Among the subjects of his research are: History of sciences in Southeastern Europe 18th-20th century), Science and Religion, History of earth sciences, Science and Society in the independent Greek state, Science and Literature.He has participated in several research projects as senior researcher and has organized a number of international and national conferences.
